A Highlight of the Conference

The weekend was a cool experience.  I loved to witness everybody’s expectant hearts coming into this weekend. The reason why people came to the weekend was because they were hungry for the Word and hungry for change –  to go to the maximum. To experience the same hunger for change as everybody, was truly amazing. Obviously, we know that all of us have to grow in the area of finance and that there is a higher level available. But we all were expectant and willing to stretch for that maximum. Like the apostle Paul said in Philippians 3 verse 13  to 14, Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I do believe that all of us were there to press for the maximum in this area of finance. 

How My Perspective About Money Changed

Nicky said in the message that summarizes my mindset change. She explained that God is willing to perform His Word, but are we willing to cooperate? Are we willing to give our resources, energy, and money? I had to determine what is most important in my life. If hearing the Word and spreading the Word is the most important thing, what would I give to make it happen? If the mission is given by Ps John, to what degree am I willing to go out of my comfort zone to bring my resources to make the vision a reality? I respond with a definite yes. I have given my whole life to God for Him to use, shape, and form. Holy Spirit will lead me in how I should bring my gift – this is applicable in all the areas of my life, but especially in regards to money. 

In one of the sessions, Pastor John read first Timothy 6 which speaks about the love of money that is the root of all evil. He further explained what the love of money really is. Money (in the world’s eyes) gives you status, power, and capacity. Therefore, people love the opportunities and the capacity money gives them. What are we to do? We are to exchange that system of the love of the capacity of what money can bring you for the truth of God’s Word that says, “Love Me, trust Me, seek Me first, I am your source, and I will take care of you, etc.” In comparison to the love of money, we are to love God and have Him as our first love and that we should actually be content with only having food and clothing (1 Timothy 6) because our hearts are right and we love Him first (we are ready for God’s maximum in finances).
