The foster home
was an eye-opener for me because it shone the light on the matter that one cannot
just show a blind eye. The world is a messy place and one can easily just
ignore not seeing those who suffer and pulling a heavier load. I was raised on
a farm and I know what lack looks like because I have seen people suffer who
work as labours.
Nevertheless, it was an eye-opener for me that I only interacted
with the children for a point in time meanwhile they have been living their
whole life. So, I desire to be more involved and have more meaningful
interactions and journeys with the kids; not have a touch-and-go relationship
interaction with the children.
