Orientation Trip

Comfort Zones

My comfort zone has always been something I tended to ignore. Arguably, is it rather straightforward why, it is uncomfortable to deal with? Nevertheless, from the art of my personality, I am introverted, therefore, I don’t mind being alone, because it pleases my personality. In my case, I don’t mind people because I grew up in a family of six people, however, large crowds tend to overwhelm me. I was constantly surrounded by plus or minus fifty people on this orientation trip, being around so many people I felt intimidated.

However, during the course of this orientation trip, I had a real moment with God and the Holy Spirit, I had to choose whether or not I wanted to isolate or fellowship with the people around me. However, I actively chose not to isolate. Only looking back now, I am reminded of what the Holy Spirit relieved through Ps Sharon, “Isolation is a violation of the collective greatness”. Because one does not participate in your gift, one stunts the growth of the people around you and your own. Additionally, what you need and what others need are met because of the unity of your faith. Praise the Lord for the right decision at the moment.

Highlights of the Trip

This trip’s highlight was the obstacle course and the horse riding. The obstacle course was a bunch of posts that stood around and you and your team had to get across without touching the ground. However, what I enjoyed most about the obstacle course was seeing the people’s faces while completing the course. I enjoyed the moments of joy when the team crossed a certain stage of the course. Looking back, there was not specifically something I fondly remember, spending that time with the people and the interaction between teammates was what made it so enjoyable for me. The horse riding was another highlight for me, I did not enjoy the riding as much, but I enjoyed it because the group enjoyed it. I loved seeing their faces when they first got on the horse. I enjoyed their reaction seeing them trying to steer the horse. However, Hein’s face was the best when he got his horse to canter around the arena, his face was filled with excitement and cannot be properly painted with words. It was priceless. Praise the Lord.

Encounters with God

Cycling:

It felt like I hit a wall during the cycling trip at about 35km into the ride. We were riding in the heat of the day needless to say that the sun was blazing hot. My legs started cramping lightly, Therefore, I knew I could not push myself harder for much more. Additionally, the group rode at a slow pace and there was a lot of stopping so the pace was never really constant, hardening the circumstances exponentially because I could not find a rhythm.

However, as I was having this struggle, I softly prayed in the Holy Spirit under my breath. And the presence of the Holy Spirit surrounded me. His peace was tangible. In His presence, I felt joy, love and comfort. However, the hardness of the ride still was present, I finished the ride surrounded and basking in the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit. The best way to explain it was there was a warmth in my heart.

Session:

During the trip, we would have sessions with Ps John where he would share the word with us. We all sat in a barn/shed-like building and Ps John would share the Word with us. During, the first session Ps John shares the vision of Exchange. Then the Lord ministered to me concerning the vision. According to the Paraphrased Khayzek Version the Holy Spirit explained, “I have called the lives of these children through the I Will Take the Children messages and they came and they sowed their lives into these words. Therefore, I will provide for them because I have called them.
They will be provided for even though they are not following the world’s way of doing things”. I was a bit overwhelmed by this revelation. My life will not fall to the ground because I have sowed it into the words of life of which God has spoken and His words will not return void unto Him. Therefore, I am empowered to prosper because I seek the Kingdom of God first.
